Cecutti Named Ohio
Capital Conference Commissioner
The Executive Committee of the Ohio Capital Conference
approved the naming of Dave Cecutti as the first-ever
conference Commissioner for the Central Ohio high school
league at the annual Executive Meeting on September
10. In his role of Commissioner, Cecutti will oversee
the 30-school membership and coordinate all aspects
of rules and standards, officials, marketing, competition
and work directly with the Athletic Directors on all
matters tied to the OCC and its member schools.
"Dave Cecutti brings to the Ohio Capital Conference
the experience and vision to advance the OCC into the
next stage of its development as one of the preeminent
high school conferences in the state", said OCC
Executive Committee president and Olentangy Liberty
High School principal Mark Raiff. "We expect his
extensive background and experience in athletics and
sport management will help us position the conference
with all of the components that we deal with both internally
and with external partners. We look forward to his
leadership within the Conference as well as in the
dialog on important issues facing interscholastic athletics."
Cecutti, a former assistant basketball coach at The
Ohio State University and Head Coach at Capital University,
has been involved in both intercollegiate and interscholastic
athletics for over 25 years. He will continue to work
as a sports marketing executive in addition to his
new duties with the Ohio Capital Conference.
In accepting the
offer to become the first Commissioner of the Ohio
Capital Conference, Cecutti stated, "I
am excited and honored to help lead the Ohio Capital
Conference, and I am grateful to the Principals and
Athletic Directors for giving me this opportunity to
address the exciting issues that we hope to explore.
This conference has been the model high school conference
in the State of Ohio for a long time and I look forward
to becoming part of the great tradition and storied
history of the OCC."
